Fordhook Giant Swiss Chard has huge, glossy dark green leaves and white veins that are fleshy, crumpled and attractive. The leaves are cooked like spinach. The stalks are great cut into small pieces and cooked. It is very heat resistant.
Takes 50 days to harvest.
Peppermint Swiss Chard is a plant that is almost too pretty to eat! It has visually stunning white striped hot pink petioles that contrast nicely with dark green deeply savoyed leaves. Peppermint swiss chard is entirely edible, however it is also very useful for colour in containers or for late season colour in the garden.
Takes 55 days to harvest
Rubarb Chard has dark green rhubarb-like leaves that are slightly crumpled with crimson veins. The main stems of narrow but fleshy ribs are bright red. The leaves are cooked like spinach and the stalks are great to cut into small pieces and cooked. It is very heat resistant.

Sowing: In a sunny spot, sow seeds in successive crops every 2 weeks from mid-spring until early summer for a continuous supply. Harvest the outer leaves first by cutting at the base of the stem, then work towards the centre. Harvest regularly for continuous supply of tender new growth. Spw seeds 1cm (3/8") deep and 2.5cm (1") apart.
