Hamilton
Hamilton is a vining butternut with outstanding flavour and great storage potential. It bears 1-1.3kg (2-3 lb) fruit with bright orange flesh that is sweet and exceptionally tasty. Fruits are uniform in size and shape and the plant also has powdery mildew resistance, making it a good choice for both home gardeners as well as market growers.

Pink Panther
This pretty pink kabocha can be used for eating and decorating. Pink Panther’s salmon pink skin encloses thick, flavourful flesh that is a bright orange colour. Flattened and ribbed 1.25-1.75kg (3-5lb) fruit stacks well for fall displays. Full size vines produce good yields of these refined, high quality squash.

How to grow
Timing: Transplant or direct sow when soil warms in late spring. Start transplants 3-4 weeks earlier. Optimal soil temperature for germination: 25-35 degrees C (68-95F)
Seeding: Sow 2cm (1") deep. If it rains or cools off, you may need to sow again.
Growing: Plant in well drained, fertile, humus-rich soil in full sun. The ideal pH range for squash plants is 6.0 to 6.8. Space squash plants 90-120cm (36-48") apart, in rows set 120-180cm (48-72") apart. Add one cup of balanced organic fertilizer, mixed well into the soil beneath each transplant, and provide constant moisture throughout the season. Avoid overhead watering to prevent plant diseases. Remove any fruit that does not set properly. Flowers planted nearby will improve pollination and fruit set.
