The Red prayer plant (Maranta leuconeura 'Red'), also known as Arrowroot, is renowned for its distinguishable colourful foliage. It gets its name from its leaves, which open up during the day and fold up together like praying hands during the night.
It grows best in a warm, moist environment.
LIGHT - Medium, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight which can burn the plant's delicate leaves.
WATER - Keep soil evenly moist. Water when the top level of the soil has dried out, but do not let the soil dry out completely. Do not allow standing water, and avoid drops of water remaining on the leaves. These sensitive plants prefer filtered or distilled water where possible.
