Prairie Smoke Seed Pack

Prairie Smoke (Geum triflorum) is a distinctive flowering plant that blooms in spring. Following pollination, its vibrant red flowers expand into feathery plumes. The leaves are equally appealing, transitioning from red to orange and ultimately to purple as the seasons change into fall and winter. This plant can be cultivated to create dense mats, serving as an appealing ground cover and is an excellent choice for planting over septic beds.

Growing Instructions 

Wet and cold stratification required. Mix seeds with moist substrate (vermiculite, perlite or moss) and place in a plastic bag and refrigerate for 6-8 weeks. Sow seed at soil surface. Do not let seedling dry out while it is establishing.

OR

Sow directly outdoors in late fall to overwinter.
