Dotted Mint - Monarda punctata Seed Pack

Dotted Mint (Monarda punctata) is an attractive, low-maintenance, and edible plant. It is indigenous to the eastern regions of Canada and the United States, with its leaves and flowers being suitable for crafting a fragrant tea or serving as a flavorful herb. This plant exhibits drought resistance and, while it thrives in sandy and loamy soils, it can also adapt to clay conditions. A closer examination reveals a series of flowers, with what may seem like flower petals actually being vibrant leaves that can be purple, pink, green, white, or yellow. Dotted mint serves as a vital food source for the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly.

Growing Instructions 

No pre-treatment required. Sow seed at soil surface. Do not let seedling dry out while it is establishing.
