These seeds are bred for making caramel corn. The shape helps delicious caramel coating to cling to the popped kernel. Great flavor and large size ensure that Caramel Crisp popcorn seeds are a treat for snacking even without a caramel coating! The sturdy corn plants are Goss Wilt tolerant and will yield large single ears. Originally bred for the caramel popcorn industry, Caramel Crisp Popcorn corn seeds produce single, large cobs with kernels that pop into huge, uniquely mushroom-shaped popcorn. As fresh corn goes, it is tasty and sweet. The sturdy plants are Goss Wilt tolerant.

How to grow
Corn needs need warm soil to germinate, especially when using these untreated seeds. A minimun soil temperature of 15 degrees C (59F) is required for all corn varieties and 21 degrees C (70F) is needed for SE and SH2 varieties. Do not plant in cold wet soil!
Timing: Try to plant corn just before warm sunny spell in late spring or early summer. Can be started indoors for transplanting out within 2 weeks.
Seeding: Sow seeds 2-5cm (1-2") deep, 10-15cm (4-6") apart, in rows 60-90cm (24-36") apart. Thin to 20-25cm (8-10") between each plant.
Growing: Corn is a heavy feeder and should be fertilized with 500g (1lb) fishmeal or alfalfa meal per 6m (20') of row. A minimun of 4 rows side by side is needed for optimum pollination. For best results, grow a single variety at a time.
Seed specs: Usual seed life: 1 year.
