Di Cicco
An Italian multi-cut broccoli that produces a small main head followed by an abundance of tender sideshoots. Cut Di Cicco's 8-10cm (3-4") blue-green, central head to induce the production of sideshoots and keep them cut to extend the harvest. Best for spring and fall production, the initial head will be looser than standard heading types and with more variation of floret size than other sprouting varieties. Excellent fresh, and a very good choice for freezing. Di Cicco can also be used for a fast microgreen. This is an old European heirloom that has been in cultivation since 1890.

Santee F1
Santee Organic broccoli seeds. Finally, a purple sprouting broccoli variety that does not require overwintering for bud development! Santee Organic broccoli seeds produce masses of miniature broccoli stems over quite a long harvest window of several weeks. You can overwinter it for early spring production, or simply sow in the spring for late summer production. Santee has a glorious, distinctive flavour that is wonderful steamed or stir-fried. The plants are incredibly productive, and it's fantastic to be harvesting fresh vegetables out of the garden just as you're starting seeds for the new summer season.
These seeds are coated with an inert, organically certified layer which helps to minimize clumping in storage and seed sowing machines. The coating is approved by organic certifiers in Canada, the US, EU, and Japan.

How to grow
Timing: Start indoors in late winter to early spring, and transplant or direct sow in late spring. Optimal soil temperature for germination: 10-30 degrees C (50-85F)
Seeding: Germination takes 7-10 days, depending on soil temperatuer. Sow seeds 5mm (1/4") deep in sterile starting mix. When plants have 4-8 true leaves (5-8 weeks old), harden them off and transplant 45-60cm (18-24") apart in rows 75-90cm (30-36") apart.
Growing: Use low nitrogen fertilizer at planting. Too much nitrogen fertilizer may cause hollow stems. Broccoli plants have shallow root systems, so avoid cultivation near plants. Use mulch to protect roots, reduce weed competition, and conserve moisture. Use floating row covers to help protect from early insect infestations.
