Wreath season!

It’s so exciting to see our wreaths go to your homes as fast as we can make them. Lots to chose from in our greenhouse and we are also now working on your custom orders. Want to make sure we have exactly what you want? Let us know and we will craft it for you. Also now that we’ve got some cool weather, no need to worry that the fresh greenery will dry up on your door.

Along with wreaths, planters, ornaments and all kinds of fun gifts, we’ve got these sweet little plants in our shoppe right now!

The days are getting shorter, and we have redesigned the Lavish Gardens Shoppe in preparation for the coming winter solstice!

Our perennials and shrubs have all been put away for overwintering. We have started (very slowly because of the unseasonably warm weather) to fill our greenhouse with wreaths and planters, and filled our Shoppe with unique gifts for all the nature lovers in your tribe.

Showcase - Mid-spring flowering Tulips available at the Shoppe:

Slawa is part of the Triumph classification of tulips. Talk and elegant, its striking colours are sure to wow you.

Purple Prince is a single tulip that will bloom for you mid- to late-May. A classic in beet root colours!

Exotic Emperor is one of our favourites. It’s a Fosteriana tulip, with large, fragrant double blooms. This variety boasts fresh creamy white blooms with green bracts and a yellow interior.

Copper Image - what can I say? Another stunning, peony-like double tulip in warm tones of copper.

Silk Road - Swirling mix of ivory, cream and raspberry! It has such graceful elegance and makes a great cut flower.

Secret Perfume - large, fully-double blooms in shades of bright, butter yellow. This is one of the most fragrant of all tulips!

Amazing Grace - you would totally think this one was a peony! Huge double blooms of raspberry pink flowers.

Foxy Foxtrot - Peach, apricot and buttercream hues make this foxy one a sight for sore eyes after a long winter!

Last but certainly not least, botanical (or “species”) tulips like Dasystemon and Little Beauty are much smaller and more natural looking than hybrids like the double tulips mentioned above. They are not to be overlooked though as they are far superior in terms of 1) their benefit to pollinators and 2) their ability to naturalize. They are TOUGHER than hybrids. Their compact growth also makes them less susceptible to harsh spring weather and really make a statement with their star-shaped blooms!

Our tulips come in packages of 6 bulbs for $9.99, which is a great price! We also have certain varieties available in bulk for $1.50 per bulb.

Late summer brings in a bit of a lull at our shoppe - perennials have mostly been bought up by our wonderful clientele and colourful annual planters and baskets have been dismantled and put away.

However, with Autumn comes another celebration of vivid colour!

Come for a visit and see our beautiful Fall display: pumpkins and broom corn from @crabbyfacefarm, gorgeous ornamental cabbages, specialty Mums that you can’t find at your local grocery store, purple fountain grasses and sunflowers for your thanksgiving decor!

Now is also a great time for shrub planting. Our viburnums, blueberry and Fothergillas are now clad in their splendid fall colours.

ALSO: our spring bulbs have started to come in and we will be showing you the incredible array of varieties we have for fall planting over the coming days.

There are so many beautiful cultivars of Echinacea purpurea (Purple conflower). And we've got lots in bloom now at our shoppe. But have you ever seen this super fun Doubledecker' before? It's a pink coneflower with a unique two-tiered bloom. Beginning in the second growing season (the one pictured here was planted last year in a client's garden), flowers predominantly bloom with a second small tier of shorter pink rays shooting upward from the top of the brown center cone. This unusual seed strain originated as a chance mutation and brought into commerce. Plants typically grow in an upright clump to 36-40" tall and to 24-28" wide on sturdy, well-branched stems that do not need staking. Flowers appear in a floriferous bloom from late spring to late summer, sometimes with additional sporadic bloom until frost.
